Who Is Thomas Andre?
Thomas Andre is the American National Level hunter known as the Goliath — the top-ranked hunter in the world before Jinwoo, and the master of the Scavenger Guild. Our strongest characters ranking places him as the strongest ordinary human in the series.
He is also a vessel for one of the Rulers, which is where his power actually comes from. Before any of it, he grew up in a struggling immigrant family — a background that explains how much he values strength and loyalty to his own people.
The Kamish Fang
Thomas was one of the five hunters who took down Kamish, the dragon behind the first S-Rank gate — the raid that earned them the title of National Level hunters. He kept the dragon’s sharpest fang as a souvenir.
It was too short for a longsword, so it was forged into a pair of daggers. Thomas is not an assassin-type fighter, so the daggers sat unused in his guild’s basement for years. That detail pays off later.
The Fight With Jinwoo
Thomas and Jinwoo start as enemies through no real fault of either. Hwang Dongsoo, an S-Rank hunter in Thomas’s guild, blames Jinwoo for his brother’s death and kidnaps and tortures Yoo Jinho to get revenge. Jinwoo kills him.
Thomas, who considers his guild members his responsibility, confronts Jinwoo two days before the International Guild Conference. He uses everything — including his Reinforcement and Capture skills — and loses badly. Jinwoo beats him nearly to death.
Our read
How Thomas loses is what makes him memorable. He holds no grudge, pays his debts, and travels to Korea to give Jinwoo the Kamish daggers he never used. The series’ strongest human is also one of its most honourable — a rare combination in a story full of hostile guilds.
Kamish’s Wrath
Those daggers — Kamish’s Wrath — become one of the most powerful weapons Jinwoo ever wields. Thomas’s respect is also visible earlier: when other hunters bet on Jinwoo dying in an S-Rank gate in Tokyo, Thomas bets his own guild headquarters that Jinwoo will come back alive.
In the War Against the Monarchs
When the Monarchs invade, Thomas fights to protect Korea alongside Jinwoo. He faces Rakan, the Monarch of the beasts, and is outmatched — he survives only because the German hunter Lennart pulls him out before Jinwoo arrives and kills Rakan. Badly injured, Thomas still refuses to retreat from the final battles.
Thomas Andre After the Reset
In the new timeline created at the end of the series, magic beasts never appear and Thomas never becomes a hunter. He finds his calling as a champion wrestler instead — and, on the advice of the fortune-teller Norma Selner, learns Korean and becomes a devoted fan of Korean dramas.
Is Thomas Andre in the Anime?
Only by reference so far. His fight with Jinwoo happens around the International Guild Conference, which the anime has not yet reached. Expect him to be a major presence once Season 3 arrives.
